Opera Workshop
The Singer’s Gym offers a four session workshop for professional opera singers.
We run this workshop in the fall and in the winter/spring. It is open to ten
singers who are chosen by audition. Each session
focuses on a different aspect of singing with the goal of bringing more
vitality, spontaneity and connection to the opera singer’s work. “Grads” of this

Summer Audition Intensive in Maine
**NEW**
The Singer's Gym is pleased to announce it's Summer Audition Intensive in Maine. Held in
beautiful
Damariscotta, on the Maine coast, the workshop will be
in August
2009, dates to be announced. Participants
will receive expert dramatic and musical coaching on their audition pieces, evaluation of their
audition list, and a training in effective tools to reduce stage fright and nerves. The
workshop will be run by Ben Bernstein, master coach at the San Francisco Opera,
and expert accompanist, Donald Sosin. For information on our

Specialty Courses
The Singer’s Gym offers Speacialty Courses for those “Grads” who have been
through the basic four session workshop. Click here

Popular Styles
New in the 2008-9 season will be a Singer’s Gym workshop for singers who
specialize in popular styles: jazz, rock, blues and country. Click

Community Workshops
Also new in the 2008-9 season will be an open workshop for people who
want to sing. If you want a fun, lively and supportive environment to sing this

Mobile Workshops
The Singer’s Gym regularly offers classes and workshops for other presenters
such as:
• Local and regional chapters of NATS (National Association of Teachers of
Singing)
• Resident Young Artist program at opera companies
• Conservatory and university vocal programs
• Studios of individual voice teachers
